Photos from the festival

We went, we ate, we came home....

Adam had a blast playing with the baby farm animals. I had a fantastic time eating pancakes and the BEST sausages I've ever had in my life... all covered with pure, freshly tapped maply syrup. I like to think that Jay was suprised when he went to get up and put his stuff in the trash, that I just about stabbed his hand for his left-over sausage.

Anyway, we're home now defrosting from a fun little outing.

Enjoy the pics.

Maple Syrup Festival here we come!

It's a beautiful day here in the Saugeen Shores. Sunny and 45. I'm finishing up a load of laundry, doing a bit of cleaning and then we are going to go to the Maple Syrup Festival.

I can't say I've ever been to one before. They have tree tapping, horse rides into the bush, (NICE BUMPY RIDE) a big barn filled with animals for the kids to pet, stuff to buy and best of all, pancakes and sausages with fresh syrup.

I'll post some photos later. Should be fun. We are going with our friends Daneille and Steve and their twin daughters and our friends Brian and Shauna and their daughter.

Felt some good pains this morning too. I hate to get too excited...

I'll post more later. Bye!

3 Weeks to go! WOOOO!

Well I'm just loading music on my mp3 so I can have some tunes at the hospital. We're getting very excited. I just found out that Jay's cousin delivered a baby girl yesterday! She's 3 weeks early, and weighs only 3.8lbs! Crazy, but the doctors say she'll be perfectly fine. She must be so tiny!

Took some more cool photos the other day. Seems Sundays are the days to take pics. We went for a walk at North Shore Park on Sunday night and it was beautiful! I took some shots of the sunset but the sun was so bright that the photos turned out like crap.

Other than that, nothing else is new really. We're doing a prime rib for easter if I can find one. And desert of course. We are having the Easter Bunny come on whatever day Jay doesn't have to work this weekend. It's supposed to be sunny so I'm going to hide some eggs outside too. However, they won't be very well hidden since the ground is STILL covered in snow. I shouldn't complain though cause at least it's not as bad as Cornwall or Ottawa (HAHAHAHAHAHAAH) Besides.... while all you guys sweat all summer I"LL BE ON THE BEACH! AHAHAHHHHHAAAAA! But don't feel bad, atleast you have Sand Point! HAHAHAHAH

Depends on how you look at it.

This is the ugliest part of the winter season. It's sort of like November ~ but dirtier. Honestly, will it ever melt? Then again, I look at the photos Cortney sent and realize that our 6 inches plus piles everywhere is nothing compared to her 2 feet and piles everywhere! Will theirs ever melt? Maybe just in time to celebrate Canada Day at the Parliment!

I went for a walk yesterday morning and again last night to get some pretty photos of possibly the last nice snow shots of the year. Hope you enjoy. I decided to post one ugly one too.

I packed the baby's bag for the hospital stay this morning. I think I may have packed like Bev though. New baby has 4 bunting bag sleeper style jammies, 4 undershirts, 2 socks, 20 diapers (they don't give you those in the hospital up here) wipes, lotion, powder, vaseline, her outfit to come home in, 3 receiving blankets, 1 thick blanket and her little hat set.

We're taking off to Owen Sound now to go look for a dresser. Maybe stop in at the mall to look around and to get some groceries. Seafood Marinara tonight for dinner, with salad & bruschetta.

...homesick

It comes and it goes, you know, you just wish you could hop in your car and go visit someone; someone that you have known for some time, have a history with, something to talk about other than work or your husband's work. You have photos up that you walk by every day, but suddenly you feel the urge to take one off the wall and look at it longer. Then you hang it back up, and fiddle with it to get it straight.
The buzzer on the dryer goes off and you forget about it again.

Spring is just around the corner thank goodness. The roads have been so slippery and slushy that it's hard to go for a walk. I'm looking forward to packing up the buggy and taking Adam and his sister to the park for a walk, or down to North Shore Park to eat an apple on the bench and watch the sunset. Adam started that tradition late last summer and has been mentioning it now and then. Funny how they remember things.

Only 29 days until I'm due. It just isin't coming fast enough. The last 3 weeks are the worst, just waiting and waiting. We're going to Owen Sound this weekend to buy a dresser, and all the stuff for my stay in the hospital, not to mention baby supplies.
I did find out that all the rooms up here are private as well. That's always nice to know I won't have some stinky lady in my room! Last time when I delivered Adam the woman in my room cried most of the time because she was worried about "nipple confusion." I had to look that one up! Felt like sticking my nipple in her face just to make her be quiet. How's that for confusion!

Anyway, as usual, laundry calls ~ so does some toast with peanut butter!

xoxoxo
missing you all!

Who's Lucky?

So whom ever responded to my last blog and said that "every friday is steak and BJ Day" is full of crap. First of all there are only a few people who read this thing...
Lets re-cap....

It's not Dale, cause he's single, and unless he's cooking his own steak, well...
It's not Larry, cause I think he may be single too...
Jerome is married with 2 little kids running around, so it's not him.
Denise and Chris are out because they have a 21 year old living under their roof, and I think they eat ribs more than steak anyway...
Bev and Marty are in Mexico, so they didn't write it...

So my guess - by default is Larry. But he's still full of shit! haha

Here's some new sunset pics taken Sunday night (March 9th) It was a beauty!

New Holiday that you should know about!

I was reading online and found this VERY interesting article for everyone to read.
... except the kids!

You know the drill. Every 14th of February you get the chance to display your fondness for a significant other by showering her with gifts, flowers, dinner, shows and any other baubles that women find romantic. Every Valentines day you rack your brains for that one special, unique gift that will show your wife or girlfriend that you really do care for them more than any other. Now ladies, I'll let you in on a little secret; guys really don't enjoy this that much. Sure seeing that smile on your face when we get it right is priceless, but that smile is the result of weeks of blood, sweat and consideration. Another secret; guys feel left out. That's right, there's no special holiday for the ladies to show their appreciation for the men in their life. Men as a whole are either too proud or too embarrassed to admit it.

Which is why a new holiday has been created.

March 14th is now officially "Steak and Blowjob Day". Simple, effective and self explanatory, this holiday has been created so you ladies finally have a day to show your man how much you care for him.

No cards, no flowers, no special nights on the town; the name of the holiday explains it all, just a steak and a BJ. Thats it. Finally, this twin pair of Valentine's Day and Steak and Blowjob Day will usher in a new age of love as men everywhere try THAT much harder in February to ensure a memorable March 14th!

The word is already beginning to spread, but as with any new idea, it needs a little push to start the ball rolling. So spread the word, and help bring love and peace to this crazy world. And, of course, steak and BJ's.

Now I suppose the funniest part of this holiday is that it falls on Bev & Marty's Anniversary!

The Honeymoon & the new baby!

I just got a message from Cortney and she told me we are all invited to join her and Ryan in Jamaica on their honeymoon! I've booked my flight, and I even managed to convince the manager to have Adam and new baby stay in their room! Jay and I have upgraded to a suite to celebrate their love!

Acutally, we would love to go away next Jan, Feb or March and are looking for a loving family to adopt 2 children! Any takers?

All in all, winter up here was really fun. It will be even better next year when I can get to Blue Mountain for some snowboard lessons. We got another 6 inches yesterday and I'm hoping that the end is near. We got spoiled a week ago when the temp. reached 43 and it was sunny all day! I even managed to snap some shots of the first nice sunset of the year. I didn't realize that as the earth turns it moves away from the sun (this may need further explanation from Ryan) so the sunsets are not visible here in the winter... but they have started to creep back to their usual place "at the end of the road."

So I have 5 weeeks left until baby is due and I'm getting very anxious. Next week is my FIRST OB appointment. Can you imaging? In Windsor you are put under the care of an OB at 4 months... not 35 weeks! And I get to meet all 5 OB's that care for patients in the Grey-Bruce Area. They do it that way because they want you to meet every doctor, so you know them incase they are the doc. on call the day you go into labour. This is exciting because that only means that I get to expose myself to even more people than planned! I'm thinking of just taking a photo of it for everyone to see, since it's headed that way anyway! The baby room is complete, I just have to have Jay install a small shelf. It's very very pretty!

Here's some recent photos for everyone!

Oh, and it must be a sign of nice weather because Jay's parents are on their way up for the weekend for a visit!

See you soon!
