We're here and getting settled

It's been a very very busy week!

I'll go back to last Friday when we picked up our U-Haul truck in A'Burg.
When we picked it up we suspected right away that it was going to be too small. But after speaking with the rep she assured us that everything we had would fit... We had that thing stuffed by Friday night, with a good chunk still left inside the house. Not to mention, we were not even taking our appliances (thank God). So Saturday morning came along and just as the weather network promised SUN - it was pouring RAIN! Jay took off to go rent a trailer, and Bev, Marty, Denise & Chris showed up to see us off... little did they know, they'd be helping us try to stuff the remainder of our stuff into the trailer. It all ended up fitting, and we were on our way.

It was as if the Gods of Weather were seeing us on our journey because once we hit Kincardine, the clouds moved out of the way to reveal a beautiful blue sky. Mom and Dad were waiting at the Bayfield cut-off to follow us up after they received a call from Denise... good ol' sister, looking out for me again. They came and helped us unload everything into the garage. We dined on KFC and cheered the new house with tepid beer.
I don't think we needed much help to fall asleep that night. We were all spent. Guppy and Yen made the trip with us to help out! Even Adam did some unpacking.

So all of this week I have busted my butt unpacking and I'm all but 3 boxes away from completion. I'm going to finish today so this weekend we can enjoy ourselves and finally go explore our new area. Today we are going to Owen Sound to get some furniture, an area rug - and Jason will be wandering into the TV section to dream. "Turns out our basement is much too big for our TV."

Because I have been so anal about not switching my camera to a digital I can't post any pics yet... but that will come soon. I took some before/after shots of our house. It is beautiful I might add. We just got our sod laid 2 days ago, and I have been very good with watering it. Sure wish I had a sprinkler system.

Anyway, I'll post more as the days go on!
See you soon! By the way, we have the best directions to get here!

xo
